I had a rather mixed experience at Le Phenix Hotel. The location near the old town was fantastic, making it easy to explore Lyon. However, my room was one of the few without windows to the outside, which made it feel stuffy and uncomfortable during my stay.

Rooms
5.0
My room was spacious but lacked an outside window, making it feel dark and cramped. The air conditioning was off for the season, forcing me to turn on the heat for fresh air.
Service
5.0
While some staff were friendly, others were quite dismissive. Upon arrival, I felt neglected as no one acknowledged us until we approached them.
Location

The hotel's location was excellent, close to attractions and dining. It allowed for easy exploration without needing extensive travel.
Dining

Breakfast options were quite limited and not very appealing. I noticed the quality could be significantly improved, and they didn’t offer gluten-free or lactose-free options.
Facilities

The parking situation was a hassle; I was informed of one price online but charged another upon arrival. Additionally, my room lacked basic amenities like a kettle, which was disappointing.

I really enjoyed my 5-night stay at Le Phenix Hotel. The staff was friendly and very helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my visit. My room was spacious and clean, with a lovely view of the River Saone, which was a definite highlight. However, I found the bathroom layout a bit awkward with some design issues that could use improvement.

Rooms

My standard room was spacious and clean with excellent lighting and a nice river view. However, the bathroom layout could be better designed; the toilet felt cramped due to proximity to the wall.

The hotel's location in Vieux Lyon couldn't be better, with easy access to many bars and restaurants, yet it's removed from the noise of the main tourist areas.
Dining

Breakfast was decent, but I felt it could offer more variety. The options were quite basic for the price, with just bread, cheese, and some ham available.

The hotel offered several amenities like a refrigerator and tea/coffee facilities, though I did find the process for getting drinking water a bit inconvenient.

I had a pleasant stay at Le Phenix Hotel, enjoying its cozy ambiance and spacious room that overlooked the River Saône. The location was fantastic, just a short walk from the historic old town, making it easy to explore. However, I found the breakfast offerings lacking and felt the pricing was too high for the limited options available.

My room was a junior suite, quite large with a comfortable king-sized bed and great amenities. The layout was well thought out, with a cozy sitting area downstairs and the bedroom upstairs.

While the buffet breakfast offered a variety of choices, I found it disappointing given the price. The selection was limited and didn’t cater to dietary restrictions, which was a letdown.

The hotel provided decent facilities, including housekeeping and a welcome drink. However, I was surprised that basic items like water had to be requested separately.

I had a lovely stay at Le Phenix Hotel, mainly thanks to its fantastic location right in Vieux Lyon. The room was clean, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. However, my room was a bit on the warm side since I didn't have proper control over the temperature. The hotel offered a solid breakfast, but I felt some amenities could use a freshening up.
